Probe or Blast?
At IMP’s, white on red, you are in 4th seat. You hold the following hand:
A K J 9 8 6,
void,
K Q 9,
8 6 5 4.
Partner opens 1
and RHO passes. You respond 1
and partner rebids 2
with the opponents silent.
What now?
IWOULD DOWNGRADE MY HAND
I BID 3S

I think 3S is clear. With partners opening 1H with hands ‘too good for a weak two’ I might be lucky to have play for 3.

3d, might be misfit, but too good to invite. i’ll raise 3s to 4; think over 3h (prob. pass) think over 3n; pass 4h.

3S. In my system this is FG. Partner can bid 3n, cue bid or raise to 4S (low singleton is ok). For the record, I dont think 3n will play better than 4M. There could be too many problems.I’m not even thinking to play below game. Playing std system I’ll just brutally jump to 4S.

This should be treated as a game force in spite of the heart void. Since 3S is invitational without prior discussion, I think 3D is best
